Recap End Activity

This year Mollier decided to stay in the Netherlands for the End Activity. 19 people enjoyed the sun, beer and beaches of Texel!

Friday evening was a party night at the feesttent with the Polderman Brothers. Even though there weren’t that many people, Mollier made a party in a way that only Mollier can. However, this party ended at 00:00, so we needed a new party location. We ended up in de Koog: the party location of Texel!

Saturday morning was quite difficult for some people, but we managed to get everyone on a bike. After a tour through the picturesque landscapes of Texel we arrived at the brewery of Texel. Here we had a very interesting tour and in the end had the opportunity to taste 4 of the beers brewed in Texel. After a delicious BBQ, we set out to the beach to do some beach football, sand sculpting and just relaxing. To close of this day, we all went to de Koog to enjoy the Texelse party spirit.

Sunday morning: waking, breakfast and then packing everything for the trip back. But before we left Texel, we had one more activity planned. Archery Tag: paintball with bow and arrow. After two hours of shooting at each other, cheating the game and being completely exhausted, the trip back to Eindhoven finally began. Most of the people slept on the way home, but some of the people tried to extend the weekend a bit longer and tried to finish the leftover beers.

We want to thank all of you for joining us and having a great weekend! See you all at next activity!

Recap lunch lecture Valstar Simonis / Fellow FSE

The 23rd of May, Peter van Mierlo (Valstar Simonis) and Ricardo Weewer (Fellow FSE) joined us for the sixth lunch lecture of this academic year. The talks were interesting which was visible in the amount of questions the audience of around 30 students asked afterwards.

Peter van Mierlo, an alumnus of our master education and also former chairman of the 12th board, prepared a lecture about the Atlas building (which is commonly known as the main building of the TU/e campus). Valstar Simonis was involved during the renovation, developing the installations of the building. This also included all sensor equipment and the smart facade of the building.

Ricardo Weewer, a lecturer at the national fire academy and former fire fighter, prepared a lecture about fire safety and the importance of research in this topic. Buildings are changing due to regulations and sustainability which means different fire fighter techniques need to be explored and examined. Ricardo mentioned interesting experiments on small and large scale.

We would like to thank Peter van Mierlo and Ricardo Weewer for their interesting insights. Missed the speakers, or are you interested in Valstar Simonis or the Fellow FSE? More information can be found at the Mollier booth at the 2nd floor of Vertigo or ask the board.

Beertasting Recap

Oh boy….Mollier went beertasting again. We can look back at another amazing edition of Beertasting. Our vedettes Jelle and Dennis have outdone themselves organising this event. The two special beer tours were refined and exquisite as one would expect of a Mollier beertour. Marissa`s headquarter was packed with many Mollier faces who were put to the test literally. Their knowledge of Mollier was tested via an awesome Mollier Quiz, which was ultimately won by our former Treasurer. Congratulations Wies!

The 21st board would like to thank everybody for coming and look forward to see you tomorrow during lunchbreak at 5H.12! We have invited Valstar Simonis and Fellowship Fire Safety Engineering for a lunch lecture.

Dag 13 – Studietrip Zuid-Korea

Day 13 – Study Trip South Korea

-Written by Marissa Vos & Aleksandra Zarzycka-

Unfortunately the study trip has come to an end. At 10am we have departed the hostel, accompanied by the owner and some of the employees. After the final photo has been taken, the 20h travel has begun . With a short stop in Frankfurt where Diyako and Gerton were checked for explosives and measuring equipment has been submitted to numerous tests, we have arrived to Amsterdam. Low on energy, full of a positive, after-trip vibe :)
Throughout the trip more than 170km have been walked, 160 bottle of Soju have been drinked and too many group pictures have been taken.
