Study Trip Russia day 8

English

Around 8 a.m., people started to wake up. This day, our trip to Moscow was the main activity. Where some had the priority to sleep in, a few fanatics wanted to do some more cultural activities in the morning. A few went to the museum of the St Isaac’s cathedral, while others decided to visit the fortress of Sint-Petersburg, where also a beach with a beautiful view along the shores was located, and where the canons were fired at 12 p.m. sharp.

In the afternoon, it became time to leave the gorgeous Saint-Petersburg behind and take the train to Moscow. When we arrived at the railway station, we had the brief hope that a high speed train would bring us to Moscow, but we had the “slow” train waiting for us at the other side of the platform. Around half past 7 we arrived in Moscow. After a short metro ride, we reached our hostel, where we’ll be staying during this week. What we all immediately noticed, was the beautiful metro station, which is a signiture characteristic of Moscow. Afterwards, it was time to have dinner, at a Italian place which also served sushi, and at a typical Russian restaurant. At this last restaurant the food was excellent only the staff a bit grumpy. Later that night, we all took some rest after the long day of travelling.

Omstreeks half 8 arriveerden we in Moskou.
